The third child of six born to Austin and Margaret George in New Hyde Park on Long Island , NY, Martin began in the arts at age eight as a drummer in grade school. In high school, he studied drums, photography, mechanical drawing, and performed in a handful of musicals and plays.
He attended Queens College in Flushing, NY and studied music for one semester before declaring a theatre major where he performed in a dozen musicals and plays as well as studying dance extensively, acting, directing, technical theatre and design. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree and moved into Manhattan to study acting at HB Studios and T. Schrieber Studios.
Moving to Los Angeles in 1993, for no good reason at all besides being young, he continued to concentrate on acting studying with Ken Lerner for two years and then finding a home with Alice Carter and Cameron Thor for the next eight.

He has worked with several small theatre groups in LA most notably with the "Open Fist Theatre" where among other things he wrote and directed a one act play called "Lobster Man" that played as a companion piece to Sam Shepards "Cowboy Mouth".

| Eventually he put down roots at the Cameron Thor Studios where he and several other students started to produce plays and his extensive back round in theatre, both artistically and technically, proved to be a great asset. He and his friends were constantly challenged creatively to breathe life into a four walled box and it was through this that Martin eventually wrote and produced a full length play called "Sins of the Father". |
Continuing to write, he penned a short film based on the Garden of Eden, but with a modern retelling called "The Garden" which he took upon himself to produce, direct and act in. Inspired, he continued with film over the next few years by participating in a 36 hour film festival, creating

eight short films, working as 1st AD on several others and volunteering at AFI by crewing several short student films. He has also gone back to the classics to study film from standout directors. His favorites films are "L'Aventura" by Michelangelo Antonioni and more recently "The Sea Inside" by Alejandro Amenabar. |

| Martin has also written three full length screenplays: |
- "Liberty", about a small rural boy in up-state NY who becomes obsessed and overwhelmed by his new ex-fashion model mom and a death in the family.
- "Playmates" where three life-long friends struggle with moving on in life when that 'something better' hasn't come along (all while they try to sneak into the Playboy Mansion).
- "Girls", about a teenage girl in a new school who has to fight for her place and winds up banding together with all the other girls to control the boys.
